I made friend with Hawaiian.

My room was #102. It was same room of last year. The Monday evening, we were at Lanai after going to Hapuna Beach. There was much person at the Lanai of next room. They were opening a private party. One of them, who were a woman, said to us. "Yokattara Ishoni Bi-ru Nomanai"(Please have some tea with us). It was Japanese. They were Japanese Americans. I went to next Lanai with my son and jointed the party. They were descendants of Japanese American, 2nd or 3rd, 4th. They live each place all around the United States, Big Island and Honolulu, Los Angeles, Washington-DC, Boston. We talked about Hawaii or Old Japanese, Anaheim Angeles, Toshiba note PC, playing golf. We spent a wonderful time. My wife came just late. Because she cooked Udon noodle for our dinner. But as we decided to have dinner with them, she brought Udon noodle. They said that the Udon was very good taste after finished. The Udon were sold out in a moment. Some of them, who were over 60 years old, could speak Japanese. So we could talk together. After the party, I got e-mail addresses of them. I gave my address to them. I want to send a mail to them once a year at least. Thank you very much for your kindness.

From 11th August 1999.
